Abstract

Community implies both the development of a social grouping and also the characteristic feature of the relationship among members of the society. Every educational institute fulfills the basic requirements of community, solves its problems, preserves its culture, raises its standard of living and maintains integrity and continuity. It is the higher educational institutions do by reforming the community to suit the changed circumstances and by developing dynamic citizens devoted to self development and welfare of the community. Community participation in higher education itself is neither a goal in education delivery, nor a panacea to solve complicated problems contributing to poor educational quality in both developing and developed countries. It is that type of process which facilitates the realization of improving educational quality and the promotion of democracy within society.
