Abstract

Social Boycott is one of the most deplorable practice prevalent in certain parts of India that challenges the democratic framework of the Constitution of India and takes away the civil liberties of an individual. The practice of social boycott involves ostracising an individual and breaking away all commercial and social relations from the ostracised to make his/her life uncomfortable. Women and oppressed classes of the society generally face this humiliation. Despite more than seventy years of Indian Independence, the country is still unable to eradicate such social evils in the society.
