Various species of duckweeds commonly occurs in lakes, ponds and growing alone or in association with aquatic plants. Spirodela polyrhiza also widely occur in different parts of India. The present investigation was therefore undertaken to study the effect of extract of Spirodela polyrhiza on different characters in Indian mustard variety Basanti, which may help in increasing the oil production of mustard. However, Dosimetry study performed for the effect of Spirodela polyrhiza extract on the seedling growth of Indian mustard variety Basanti showed a maximum increase in the length of primary root, shoot and in number of secondary roots.
