In marketing strategy, product strategy occupies a pivotal place. A marketer has to decide whether he should modify a product slightly to suit the rural consumer needs and perceptions or market a totally separate product or brand for rural market. Marketing a totally separate product or brand for the rural market may not be possible in some cases. Whereas in some cases it may very well be possible to develop entirely difference brands to suit rural market.
