Abstract

The paper is an attempt to discuss critically the most recurrent theme of escape in Tennessee Williams’ two prominent plays ‘The Glass Menagerie’ and ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’. Here the theme of escape serves as a device of dislocation from reality into illusion.
