Abstract

Literacy and education are essential for social reconstruction, improvement in the quality of life and preparation of manpower for rapid development. According to Census of India, a person who can read and write with understanding in any language is treated as literate. Since the formation of Haryana as a separate state in 1966, a considerable growth has taken place in literacy.
