Abstract

The retail business is one of India's major industries and the second largest employer after agriculture. It contributes significantly to raising productivity across a variety of goods and services. Both an organized and an unorganized retail sector exist in India, with the unorganized portion accounting for the majority of sales. India's retail industry evolved from unorganized retail stores to organized retail stores.
