Abstract

In a greenhouse experiment, the effect of nickel on four black gram cultivars (AB-1903, ADT-3, ADT-4 and ADT-5) were studied at the rates of 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg/kg soil. Increasing nickel levels in the soil decreased significantly the chlorophyll-a and chlorophyll-b content of black gram cultivars. The decreasing effect was less in the cultivars AB-1903 and ADT-3 than in ADT-4 and ADT-5.
