Abstract

Indian culture and religion made a significant impact not only in India but beyond Indian borders too. Buddhism arrived in China in sixth century BC through China and Korea deeply influencing the socio-cultural life of Japan. India’s ancient language Sanskrit significantly influenced Japanese language and got adapted as Siddham in Japan and is still prevalent in Japanese temples and other places as well. The concept of bijakshara has a deep significance on Japanese temples and beliefs.
