Abstract

Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance(ESG) refer to the evaluation of a business on the basis of non-financial factors. Investors are becoming increasingly proactive in evaluating businesses not just through the one-dimensional lens of financial performance but also by how much businesses do for the environment, society, and corporate governance. ESG rating is a metric that assesses a company's exposure to environmental, social, and corporate governance risks. Environment is a very important metric for ESG ratings, as ESG investing catches traction, more and more funds flow into environmentally sustainable businesses.
