Abstract

Land Degradation is the process of deterioration of the biological and physical environment, affecting the productivity of soils and their quality. Deforestation, excessive use of fertilizers, salination, water logging and desertification are some of the causes of land degradation. Among these many causes, one of the rising causes of Land Degradation is mining. Therefore the paper focuses on the land degradation, in Zawar Mines, Udaipur by studying the non reclaimed mining pits.
