Abstract

This paper examines the real cause of English language teaching and learning to Government secondary schools in Bihar. English plays important role in growth and development in every aspect of person’s life. This language is the official language of most of the nations and one of the most thought languages in schools and colleges including India. As India is a country of village, majority of the students come from rural background they find uneasiness to speak, read, write and listen in English. In the case of Bihar, teaching language becomes more difficult because English is taught not at compulsory subject in Bihar at secondary level of schooling. This paper also deals in education structure, government policy, role of department of education, teacher efficiency, curriculum, content development of language teaching.
