Abstract

The importance of this study is to examine the customers attitude towards gold price volatility in Madurai district. Gold has a special significance in all ages. In India, gold is considered much more than a precious metal. Jewellery, since time immemorial has remained ‘neighbour’s envy and owner’s pride’. In this circumstance, such a volatility in the price of gold in the international arena and also in India kindle the mind of the researcher to study about the customers’ attitude towards gold price volatility in the study area namely, Madurai District. This study may be an eye opener in the field of gold related research and it opens new avenues for further research activities.
