Abstract

Unemployment is a major challenge India has been facing in the process of its development. Millions of unemployed youth, particularly from rural and semi urban background who could not accrue high / professional education but oriented towards white collar jobs are driven to despair for not finding a job. In view of the government’s seriousness about overcoming the unemployed graduate’s problems as well as developing potential entrepreneurs, it is timely to undertake this study to develop a greater understanding of the university student’s inclination towards self employment or entrepreneurship for livelihood and poverty alleviation.
