Abstract
Social audit plays a critical role in enhancing transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in decentralized democracy. It ensures that local authorities are held accountable for their actions, empowers local communities to actively participate in the decision-making process, strengthens accountability mechanisms, and builds trust and legitimacy in local governance.
