EFFECTING COGNITIVE FUNCTIONING IN STUDENTS - A THEORETICAL REVIEW STUDY

Abstract

Education is the deliberate and systematic influence exerted by mature person upon the immature through instruction, discipline for the harmonious development of physical, social, intellectual, aesthetic and spiritual. There is a strong suspicion that children can learn vastly more and on a more mature intellectual level than they now do if they are redirected from mastering information preprocessed by other people to mastering the systematic intellectual skills of processing the information themselves. Imagine what it would be like to sit in a classroom and have nothing make sense. When we present a very well planned, logical lesson, we wonder why some students "get it" and others do not. After re-examining our methods and our curriculum, and after trying and failing more. If so to reach a subset of students, we ask ourselves some hard questions: Are the students who don't get it learning disabled? Are they unmotivated? Are they unfocused, inattentive, lazy? Are they just "slow"? or if this development has to be left to the accidents of experience. The teachers or even concerned parents get frustrated and conclude that the students need to pay more attention, work harder, or change their attitudes. “Often, neither the students struggle is what makes more bother, else anything”What lies behind the students' failure? Neither teachers nor even concerned parents are aware of student’s failure? I don’t think many are; Unmindful of the fact that the students could not produce it until they had first mastered the required cognitive operations. As cognitive potential/structures of students is considered to be central to education unless one reason that educators can’t immediately identify not-developed or less-used cognitive structures as a source of learning. Once own ability to process information quickly and work easily with abstract ideas is what deals with effective cognitive functioning and imagine why it is difficult to so many that they struggle to do these things as for someone else it is entirely different. The aim of this study is to revise and explore about effective cognitive functioning in students
