Abstract

This paper aims to explore and analyze the shift in two poems (Anthem of India to Anthem of the community) of Iqbal which are contradicting each other as both offer a different view of the concept of community. To gain a better comprehension of the topic, a deep study of various texts and related resources has been conducted. The texts were categorized in the form of words, themes, context, and purpose, thus, analyzed on their content basis. The study demonstrates that religion has a profound impact on him and that can be well understood by analyzing the development of his thought process; this is contrary to the existing opinion of many scholars and people in general who try to ‘secularize’ Iqbal.
