Abstract
The following project aims at gaining a deeper understanding of the spice industry as well as the bond market, in order to innovate a financial instrument capable of boosting the economy of India, while covering for the major drawbacks that the Sovereign Gold Bonds had. This study aims at formulating the details of issue of such Spice Bonds by making use of the Vasicek interest rate model, the Macaulay’s Duration, the Excel Solver function and Internal Rate or Return models, and to deduce their effects and implications on the investors of the Spice Bonds as well as the issuing company itself from a financial point of view.
